Hopefully you have been managing your Twitter account over at www.flashTweet.com to add hundreds of followers to your account each day. I know sometimes FlashTweet can be slow so sometimes I just might add names manually on Twitter. But, FlashTweet does have a good system to "unfollow" 100 people at a time that aren't following you to help you get to your 2000 follower threshold.
I will show you another strategy to gain further exposure on Twitter by using celebrities...and no, it's not by getting on YouTube and ranting and raving at them. Usually when you sign-up for Twitter, it offers names of celebrities for you to begin following. Go ahead and accept because you then show up as their follower. As soon as you follow a celeb, you go to the top spot under their followers. So, anyone checking to see who's following Oprah would see your screen name. So, it's almost like putting your screen name in front of half a million people depending on the celebrity. You can search for celebs or a big business manually by typing in their name under "Find People" in the top menu. Or, after you go to "find people," you can click on "suggested users" and Twitter will find its own list of celebs for you to follow.
Remember when we said you want to "unfollow" those people that don't follow you? Well here's the beauty of this: Oprah, Ashton Kutcher, and Larry King probably won't follow you...but you can unfollow them! But how will that help you? Because now you can follow them again which now puts you at the top of their follower list. So anyone that checks to see who is following the celebs will see your name. You can view this by clicking on anyone to follow, then go to their profile, and click on "followers" under their name. If you just started to follow them, your name should show up on top of their list. People want to follow people who follow celebs, and whoalah, there you are!
So hopefully you see how following celebs on Twitter can gain you more exposure and more followers. In my next post, I will show you how to Turbocharge your Twitter and reveal other secrets to gain maximum exposure.
